My husband just turned 34, and as always, he prefers a simple yet meaningful celebration rather than an extravagant gathering. Ever since we’ve been together, my husband never really wanted a grand birthday celebration. Hindi siya yung tipong mag-oorganize ng malaking handaan or mag-iinvite ng maraming tao. Para sa kanya, birthdays are meant to be spent with the people who truly matter—family and close friends.

This year was no different. We kept it simple but special, just the way he likes it.

Preparations: No Stress, Just Happiness

No pressure, no stress—ganito ang gusto naming approach sa birthday celebrations. Hindi na kami nagplano ng engrande o naghanap ng malaking venue. Instead, we decided to celebrate at home, kung saan mas relaxed at mas comfortable kaming lahat.

Pinili naming maghanda ng mga paborito niyang pagkain, rather than focusing on the quantity of dishes. Quality over quantity, ‘di ba? Ang importante, lahat ng nasa mesa ay something na talagang gusto niya.

A Special Surprise: His First Lechon Birthday

So, thinking na hindi pa siya nakakakain ng lechon sa mismong birthday niya, I planned to surprise him. I organized a mini party inside the house that we rented.

The theme was blue, since his 30th birthday was a Dota-themed celebration with red and black as the color motif.

I also thought of inviting his co-members from the Rig Builders organization, pero he insisted na huwag na, dahil nahihiya siya. Kaya naman, we kept it small and intimate, with just family and our Mobile Legends team.

The Food: Simple but Delicious

Hindi kailangang magpa-catering o magluto ng napakaraming putahe. Ang importante, masarap at may kasamang pagmamahal.

A Birthday Gift Like No Other: Victory in the ML Tournament

That time, we celebrated with family and our Mobile Legends team. After enjoying the food, they went to Barangay Balbarino to compete in a Mobile Legends tournament.

And guess what? What a real gift from our team to him—because they won as CHAMPION!

It was the best and most unexpected gift he could receive that day. Not only did he get to celebrate with his loved ones, but he also got to experience the thrill of victory with his team.

It’s the Small Moments That Matter

This celebration reminded me of one important thing: happiness is not measured by the grandeur of a party, but by the love and warmth shared with the people who matter the most.

My husband’s 34th birthday was simple, relaxed, and full of love—exactly how he wanted it. Minsan, hindi natin kailangan ng extravagant celebrations para maging espesyal ang isang araw.
