Second Time's a Charm: A Cozy Coffee Date at Fulcrum Coffee, Watergate Hotel Butuan | Dee Mayang

If there's one thing I truly enjoy during a staycation, it's discovering good food and good vibes within walking distance from where I stay. Kaya naman when my husband and I checked in again sa Watergate Hotel Butuan, alam na agad namin kung saan kami kakain — Fulcrum Coffee! Yes, it’s our second time here, and honestly, balik-balik pa rin kami. Why? Because masarap na, cozy pa.

Fulcrum Coffee is located inside Watergate Hotel, which is along Jose Rosales Avenue, Butuan City, right in front of Amarah Hotel. Ang convenient niya kasi hindi mo na kailangang lumayo if you're staying in the hotel. Literal na lalabas ka lang, and you're in one of the coziest cafés in the city.

Cozy Ambiance, Parang Bahay Lang

Pagpasok mo pa lang sa Fulcrum, you’ll instantly feel the relaxing ambiance. Cozy, stylish, at homey ang interior nila. May touch of modern and minimalist feel, pero warm and welcoming pa rin. We sat sa couch na sobrang lambot — parang kama! Honestly, I almost didn’t want to get up. Pang-malakihang tao talaga yung upuan, tapos malambot pa, kaya perfect pang chill.

Kung galing ka sa mahabang lakad or gusto mo lang ng quiet time, this café is definitely a good spot. Kaya nga kahit second time na namin, na-excite pa rin ako umupo doon and just enjoy the moment.

Food is life, diba? So here comes the best part — the food!

My all-time favorite sa Fulcrum is their Luke’s White Walker — grabe, kung pwede lang ako mag-order ng dalawang serving, ginawa ko na! It’s a luxuriously creamy fettuccine carbonara tossed with Parmesan cheese, crispy bacon, and served with their signature garlic bread. Each bite is packed with cheesy goodness, creamy texture, and that smoky flavor from the bacon. Nakaka-addict, promise. Hindi siya 'yung carbonara na puro cream lang — this one, you’ll really taste the quality ingredients.

Si hubby naman, ang go-to niya is always the Fulcrum Burger with fries. Sabi niya, "Walang tapon." The burger is thick and juicy, the bun is soft but holds everything well, and the fries? Crispy perfection. Sakto talaga for him na meat-lover.

Their menu offers a wide range of options, by the way. Kung gusto mo ng burgers, hotdogs, silog meals, or even pastries and cakes, meron sila. Plus, their beverage selection is worth noting. From artisan coffee to smoothies, frappes, at cocktails, andun lahat. Western-inspired talaga ang dating, pang sosyal pero affordable.

Timing is Everything

Fulcrum Coffee opens at 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM on weekdays and Sundays, at nag-eextend until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Kaya whether gusto mong mag-late lunch, early dinner, or pang gabi na chill session, swak sila.

During our recent visit, afternoon na kami pumunta, sakto lang ang dami ng tao — hindi matao pero hindi rin empty. Just the right number para chill ang ambiance without being too quiet. May background music din na hindi masakit sa tenga, pampadagdag sa cozy feels.

More Than Just Coffee

Ang ganda ng concept ng Fulcrum — they didn’t just focus on coffee but made sure the place feels like a mini-escape from the hustle. It’s not too intimidating, and at the same time, may premium vibe siya. Kaya perfect for both casual hangouts or even small meetings. Actually, naisip ko nga next time, baka dito na lang ako mag-edit ng vlogs or mag-work, haha! May working table area din kasi sa iba, and it’s relatively quiet.

Fulcrum & Watergate: A Perfect Pair

Since it's located inside Watergate Hotel, everything feels within reach. You eat, then go back to your room to rest — ganun lang kasimple pero fulfilling. After namin kumain, we went back to our deluxe room and rested a bit before dipping in the pool. Perfect talaga ang flow ng araw namin. Parang everything was designed for relaxation and quality time.

Fulcrum Coffee complements the whole Watergate Hotel experience. Parang silang magka-partner na hindi puwedeng paghiwalayin. You get the comfort of the hotel and the cozy coffee shop vibes all in one place. Kaya nga hindi na kami nagdalawang isip pa bumalik, and honestly, I think there’ll be a third time soon!

Whether guest ka sa hotel or just someone passing by, it’s definitely worth a try. From their amazing pasta and burgers, to the relaxing ambiance and warm service — everything just makes you want to stay longer.
